So this is me. Independent writer, editor, and project manager specializing in social science, medical, and STEM communications. And here are a few key things you should know about working with me.
Plain and inclusive.
I am a huge (Jupiter-level scale) advocate for the use of both plain language and inclusive, bias-free language. Not sure what that means? Ask me about how (and why) we can apply these concepts to your project.
Stylish.
Not to brag, but I’m a whiz at APA Style—and I also happen to love applying style guides to manuscripts! In case you were wondering, I’m also pretty good with the following guides: AMA Style, Chicago Manual of Style, Science and Technical Writing, and Editing Canadian English. Moreover, I have lots of experience working with publication-specific style guides, particularly scholarly journals.
Diverse.
I work with medical societies, healthcare organizations, universities, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), government departments and agencies, physicians, academics, researchers, and other professionals to create clear, concise documents and to ensure that their projects are delivered on schedule. My client list includes Canadian Standards Association (CSA Group), Canadian Ophthalmological Society, Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada, Health PEI, Queen’s University Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Saskatchewan, LeadNow, Natural Step Canada, and many individual researchers, physicians, and other experts.
(Don’t just take my word for it.)

Versatile and hard-working.
Whether it’s editing a scientific journal article, writing a position statement on the use of nonpowder projectile weapons, the ongoing management of a peer reviewed publication, or something completely different, I’m up for the challenge.
